HealthHero is delighted to have recently partnered with Granville Community Kitchen to help support its team with access to Symbio.
About Granville Community Kitchen
Granville Community Kitchen is a diverse group of local food system transformation warriors. They run several community-centred agroecology-informed programmes in parallel including:
- community meals;
- community gardening;
- a solidarity-based veg box scheme; and
- a care-centred HR system.
In addition to these programmes, they have ambitions to find their own land in urban/peri-urban London for growing food, thus modelling a full closed loop farm-to-fork cycle for their London communities.
Why Symbio was the right choice
It became apparent that, emerging from the pandemic and then getting hit by a cost-of-living crisis, Granville Community Kitchen’s team of food sector frontliners was facing multiple challenges. Being custodians of their communities, the team were understandably feeling increasingly under pressure.
Despite having an internal system of care in place to always check on each other, by 2023, staff wellbeing began dwindling – and work performance took a hit as a result.
That’s why Granville Community Kitchen chose Symbio to help support their team and look after their wellbeing in 2024.
Lamis Jamal, project coordinator at Granville Community Kitchen, commented:
“In recognising that we needed to be proactive and preventative in our approach, we prioritised getting professional support.
“We opted to begin our new year 2024 with HealthHero's Employee Assistance Programme via the Symbio App. James made the process very quick and seamless.
“Now we have peace of mind knowing that our hardworking team has access to help around the clock, right at their fingertips. With their wellbeing taken care of, we hope that this will allow our team to focus on what they do best - dream, envision and action a better food system for all.”
