The Operational Team collectively supports and enables our Access to Care and GP Out of Hours teams. They are supported in return with full training, ongoing development and excellent rewards.
Each service is structured with Team Leads, who deliver services that are well-led, safe, effective, responsive and caring.

What type of role are you looking for?
Providing the vital, professional and personal point of contact between patients and the medical team, our Urgent Care Assistants play a vital role in delivering a streamlined, efficient service.
The central contact at both community hospitals and Primary Care Centres, our Urgent Care Assistants undertake a dual role of driving and reception work to support the efficient operation of Integrated Urgent Care services across the South West.
If you have excellent communication skills, have intuition and have the ability to develop knowledge to help provide outstanding patient care, you can do amazing things here as part of our great team.
You’ll also need a flexible approach to working a variety of shifts, all of which are out of hours and include nights, weekends and bank holidays.
This multi-faceted, 24/7 role is dynamic, challenging and incredibly rewarding.
Our Urgent Care Coordinators bring their excellent communication skills, knowledge of operational processes, proactive and can-do attitude to every shift. They are a responsive contact point in the Single Point of Access (SPA) and provide shift coordination for the Single Point of Access and Out of Hours Urgent Care
The key responsibilities include:
- 24/7 shift working on a defined rota basis
- Responsive point of access for medical, clinical and care professionals and other related agencies, e.g. Ambulance and NHS 111
- Supervision and coordination of the Single Point of Access and Out of Hours Urgent Care services
- Supervision of operational staff
Our Urgent Care Call Handlers play a central supporting role across our integrated care services.
This means providing a professional, responsive point of reference for health and social care professionals and juggling a variety of support functions as directed by the Urgent Care Coordinator.
It’s a busy, dynamic role. If you’ve got great communication, telephone and keyboard skills, and can prioritise tasks and workloads, all while maintaining the highest standards and meeting tight deadlines, you could be amazing here.
