What do we do?
Our experienced team provide streamlined, patient centred services, which may include appointments at primary care centres, video consultations, home visits, or self-care advice.
Dental services can also be accessed through NHS 111, and signposted to appropriate services.
NHS 111
The NHS 111 is a free medical helpline that provides non-emergency advice for patient needs.
The service is part of the BSW IUC contract and is provided by Practice Plus Group (PPG), which has multiple call centres across the UK.
How do I use the NHS 111 service?
- If you are in need of medical advice quickly, for a non-emergency issue and if your GP clinic is closed, you should dial 111
- You will then speak to a NHS 111 adviser who will discuss your issue and provide advice on the best course of action
- The adviser can then put you in touch with the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) to discuss your condition further
- You will then be advised on possible outcomes, for example, if you need to visit A&E, book a GP appointment or to visit an emergency dentist. You may also receive self care advise, without the need for a referral.
Mental health services
NHS 111 is a dedicated mental health line for patients with any mental health concerns to call, where their needs will be addressed by an appropriately trained clinician.
Simply dial 111 and then select option 2 from the list of options presented to you.
Clinical Assessment Service and Out of Hours
The Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) is a 24/7 service led by a multidisciplinary clinical team and expert non-clinical coordinators. It receives cases from NHS 111 and healthcare professionals for senior clinical reviews.
What happens when my case is passed from NHS 111 to the CAS?
You will be contacted by a suitably qualified clinician, who will fully assess your needs. They will agree the next steps with you, these could be:
-
Self care advice
-
Prescription
-

-

-

Or if you need admission to hospital, this will also be arranged.
